Does the Existing Home Rebate apply to new residential construction?

No, this rebate applies to existing homes only.

 

How do I qualify for a rebate?

Qualifying is simple. All you have to do is live in the Pensacola Energy service area and replace* and/or convert an existing appliance, with a qualified new natural gas appliance. Please see our rebate page for full details on qualifying appliances. *Gas-to-gas replacement option applies only to water heaters and furnaces.

 

How can I be certain a new appliance is more energy efficient?

Check the Energy Star rating or the energy guide label. They should tell you how efficient your replacement appliance is and whether it is more efficient than the appliance being replaced.

 

Do I have to install a certain brand to get the rebate?

No, the choice is yours.

 

Can I install the appliance myself?

Yes, However, all work must have required permits and inspections prior to applying for the rebate.

 

Do the rebates apply to other appliances such as stoves, fireplaces, gas grills or generators?

Yes! Pensacola Energy now offers conversion rebates on the following natural gas appliances, fireplace/firepits, range/cooktops/ovens, dryers, whole house generators, natural gas lights (two light minimum), pool/spa heaters and grills. Please see our rebate page for full details.

 

What documents are required to get a rebate?

After your new appliance has the required permit(s) pulled, installed, and passed its inspection, all you need is a completed rebate form and a copy of your invoice.

 

At what point in the process can I apply for the rebate?

You may apply for the rebate after your new appliance has been installed and passed the required inspection.

 

Does Pensacola Energy install, repair, do piping or sell natural gas appliances?

No.

 

Do I have to use a particular plumber to qualify for the rebate?

No, the choice is yours.

 

How soon can I expect my rebate check?

Rebate checks are processed monthly and usually arrive in six to eight weeks.

 

Do you apply the rebate to my bill?

No. Anyone eligible for a rebate will receive a check from Pensacola Energy by mail.

 

I’m confused. Do I receive a check for the appliance and another rebate for the installation?

No. You will receive one check for the appliance and the installation after the installation is complete and the required permit for the appliance has passed inspection. Is there an expiration date to apply for the rebate?

Yes, one year from the installation date of the appliance.

 

Where will my rebate check be mailed to?

It will be mailed to the “Payable To” address the customer provides when filling out the rebate form. If the “Payable To” box is not filled out, it will be mailed to the Homeowner Information address.
